Purchased one in 2013 for $15 shipped. Came without a sheath (which I knew prior). Handle was blocky, natural wood. Blade had no edge to speak of, both of which were advertised as such, so no issues to me!
I shaped and sanded the handle to custom fit my hand. Stained it a dark, rich shade. Nice & smooth. Put a wide angle, working edge on it. Made my own cheap sheath. This thing became a scary beast! I absolutely love it!! A slasher & chopper made for the woods! For $15, I took a tool and made it my own with minimal work! It doesn’t get any better than that!! Worth the experience at twice the price!!
Get one! Make your own monster!!

This machete is ideal for backpacking particularly in combination with a sven saw. It’s the lightest and most effective solution I’ve found for preparing firewood.

I recently got several of this size (from a different source). Very, very nice. Smallish handle but nice hardwood. As with any common machete, the edge needs some work.
Mine has a 13 5/8″ blade that is not tapered from back to front, 0.078″ (1.98 mm) thick. The lack of distal taper gives it a little more forward weight which is good in this length and blade profile.
I really like the size, shape and weight. I have dozens of Latin American machetes and many dozen hand-forged Thai machetes, but this one is definitely a keeper. Right up there with the 14″ Tram bolo.

Absolutely love this machete I have many different styles and sizes though I find myself taking this one along. It’s just the right compromise between a knife size machete and a longer more bulky feeling blade. This is all really personal preference due to what ones plans for the day are. Many factors play out when choosing a machete but just use it enjoy it and buy many many more
