In many ways Tramontina is the machete of Brazil. And yes, they know their machetes in Brazil. Tramontina machetes are used by rural workers in the hinterlands of South America. These machetes are now becoming more and more popular outside of Brazil as Tramontina value is truly extraordinary. A no frills, economical work machete.

Edited: Handle is loose, has play when moving it side to side. Easy fix, but I have to correct this. First 100 chops and it has 5 flat spots on the edge after chopping vines and small bamboo. It did come sharp. Ill put my own edge/angle on it to see if i can improve it.

Good steel; long handle allows two-handed swing; blade quite sharp as delivered, but cutting edge is somewhat fragile – not strong enough for use on brush or branches of trees. Great for cutting blackberries or vines – the hook on the backside allows removal of thorny vines. Good tool.
