Cheap with some heft but still easy to swing and pairs well with a lanyard. Almost bridges the gap between machete and survival knife. Great for breaking firewood cutting husks off coconut etc.

Glad to see these back in stock. They are really hard to find. I always wanted a WWII USMC Philippine bolo. This is the closest I can find. I have land in the Philippines and bought this to use there as a chopper and digger, and as a truck knife in the US. Shipping was super fast, just a couple of days. Thanks to MS for getting these back in inventory. I paid $32.99 and it is a steal.

The paratrooper is the best small machete I have used. It is the size of the Bowie styles and cane knives, yet is better balanced for superior handling. It takes a wicked edge. With the optional sheath it wears knife, but cuts outside of its dimensions. I never go to the woods without mine.

I have tried a number of smaller machetes, including the Bowie style and cane knives. The Crocodile is the best small machete I have used. It is balanced perfectly and takes a very good edge. It wears on a belt like a knife making it extremely handy. I do not go into the woods without it. It has the convenience of a large Bowie, but cuts far better.
