The sable machete features a long, slender blade with distinctive curvature on both edges of the blade. With a long reach, this light blade is perfect for trimming green vegetation such as new growth on trees and bushes, or grass. Can be swung repeatedly with relative ease.  This is a thinner, light-weight Bush/Latin styled blade.

Imacasa is based in Santa Ana, El Salvador, but produces machetes for almost all of the Americas. Imacasa machetes and cutting tools are designed to excel in industries such as agricultural, construction and gardening.

My 28″ Imacasa Sable Machete weighs the same as this 24″ – apparently the newer Imacasa machetes no longer have a distal taper; but Gavilan Incolma and Trapotina machetes still do!

This makes this 24″ blade feel like your swinging an iron rod. My 28″ Imacasa has a distal taper and is immeasurably more maneuverable than this 24″ one. WASTE of money, I’ll use my 22″ Gavilan Sable-Machete or my 28″ Imacasa Sable (with distal taper) before I’d waste time trying swing this club to cut things. It feels almost exactly alike the overweight Coldsteel Cutlass Machete.

All good cutting machetes have a distal taper around 1.5mm at the base, down to about 1mm or less at the tip. Check out an Gavilan with your calipers and you will see this.

Great machete for Filipino weapon training. I removed the grip and put a hardwood version on. Overall a lightweight fast machete made of good Steel
