Its unique profile, where the stout blade widens significantly toward the tip, creates a pronounced weight-forward balance. • Blade Material: Primarily constructed from tough 1055 High Carbon Steel. Some production runs may feature 65Mn Carbon Steel. Both are known for their excellent durability, resilience, and ability to hold a sharp edge even under heavy use. The steel is typically given a spring temper to resist bending and breaking.
• Blade Finish: Features a durable black baked-on anti-rust matte finish. This coating not only protects the blade from corrosion but also reduces glare, making it suitable for various outdoor conditions.
• Blade Design: A substantial 14 5/8-inch (approximately 37.1 cm) blade with a unique “cane” or “cleaver” style that widens considerably towards the tip. This forward-weighted design is the core of its powerful chopping capability. It boasts a full tang construction, ensuring maximum strength and stability, as the blade steel extends through the entire handle.
